After an overnight stay at the Holiday Campground we took the “Forgotten Highway – Route 98” to another one of our favorite state parks, St. Joseph Peninsula State Park on the Gulf of Mexico. The beach sand here is like white snow and quite beautiful.
Oh, I forgot to mention that we did find a blog entry and pictures of the Holiday CG. We were looking in our Florida trips for an entry when it was actually in our 2014 Arizona blog. We both forgot that we took the same route last year to Arizona and stopped there in February. The only issue we have is that we did “forget” but at least we remembered again! LOL
Arriving around Noon we set up, had lunch and for the first time since we left took a nap! Jewel was anticipating a walk so I took her while Ron got a few extra winks.
Later we walked on the beach (no dogs allowed) enjoying the brisk breeze and bright sunshine.
We came across a bird that was injured and unable to fly. I wanted to take it back to the MH and take care of it but that was not a really good idea.
Such a pretty bird that is unable to fly!
After dinner Ron wanted to catch the sunset over the ocean.
The sunset was spectacular!
Jewels’ new friend.
There are many deer wandering around the CG.
We will be here for another night so tomorrow we will spend some time on the beach before the temp drops to a frigid 28 degrees! UGH Yes, we will be feeling the effects of the massive cold front moving along the east coast. The good news is it is predicted to last no more then 36 hours and then temps will continue to climb.
