Day 19–Drive to Llano River RV Park, Junction , Texas

on Friday, January 16, 2015

After a harrowing experience finding a spot to park at the Flying J last night we actually had a very quiet night parked along the side of the  road in the lot by the gas tanks. It is a cold 41 degrees this morning but the sun , yes the sun, is in the sky shining down on us, finally!

We had breakfast at Denny’s and were on the road by 9:30 am. Texas is so flat and huge that the drive can become monotonous. We stopped a few times to stretch our legs and decided to find a CG around 3:30 pm.

The Llano River CG is just off the highway so we secured a site and enjoyed the sun and temps that had climbed into the mid-sixties.

After setting up we immediately went outside to enjoy the remainder of the day in the sun we so desperately need.

We took Jewel for her much needed walk along the river.

There is no green grass here but we are just happy to get a little warmth. Once the sun set the warmth quickly dissipated and we were back in the MH with the heat on. Cannot complain because we did get much needed sun  no matter how brief it was.
