After three very cold days on the ocean we opted to leave this morning en route to New Orleans. We hope to find something different to do this time. We have come to realize that we have saturated every area we have been to and are finding it difficult to come up with anything new or different to explore. Not a bad problem to have I guess, but now we feel like we are stopping places to just “hang around.” Hanging around is not what we like to do.
The drive was mostly uneventful except for the large, thick patches of fog we ran into when driving over bridges. The temp climbed to 78 degrees with significant humidity. We went from heat to AC in less then 2 hours. Feels like New England.
We stopped at a Flying J in Gulf Port Mississippi and paid $1.80 for gas. That is the lowest we have see gas prices so far.

We arrived at the Pontchartrain Landing CG at 3 pm and were escorted to our site by a very nice man. Everyone here is very friendly and accommodating. We are Passport America members so were able to secure a site for $39.00 a night instead of the usual $78.00 per night with taxes. The park is quite nice and because we got our site for half-price we were not given a site with a great view. It is a pull-through with full hook-ups so we can,t really complain.
The Campground is amazing with a variety of rental properties including a very nice motel.
We were parked near the laundry and since we had no sewer hook-ups for seven days I had a lot of laundry to do. First order of business – to get the laundry done.
We ate at the restaurant in the CG proper and toured the grounds.
The food was very good and reasonably priced. After dinner we ambled back to the MH to try to plan events for tomorrow. The temperatures have dropped and there is a chill in the air. Hopefully tomorrow will bring higher temps and sunny weather.
