Ron and I spent a great deal of time planning our route to Mohave National Preserve. He really didn’t want to drive 101 and I –210 through LA so opted for a completely different route that took us on less congested roadways around LA.
Ron also thought we should stop along the way at a CG. After 4 hours on the road and 193 miles we stopped at the Newberry Mountain RV park on the old Route 66.
We are back in the desert so no grass for Jewel.
There is a caboose on site that Jewel didn’t want to check out.
Two other RV’s checked in after we arrived but the CG remained pretty empty.
We had a nice dinner, sat outside for a while until it got cold then turned in for the night. Tomorrow it is off to the Mohave National Preserve.
