I did not sleep well last night and was up by 6 am cleaning and getting ready to get back on the road. I was changing the sheets on the bed and Jewel was waiting patiently for me to finish. She gets on the bed in the morning after we get up and lounges. LOL
We left Santo, expecting to get to Nevada by 1 pm. That all changed when we were 2.8 miles from our exit to I – 635. All of a sudden the traffic stopped and it took 1.5 hours to travel that 2.8 miles. There were three of the five lanes closed for construction, that went down to one lane then there was a car versus tractor- trailer accident making it even worse.
Finally we were on our way again and arrived at the CG at 2:30 pm. We got settled and Ginny and Dick picked us up for our visit with them. It was great to see them since it has been almost two years since we last saw them.
Ginny and Dick have been living in Texas for just under one year having moved from Maine. They got out of Maine just in time before this terrible winter.
We had a great visit catching up and went to a nice restaurant for dinner. After dessert at their home they brought us back to the MH where we settled in for the night. Tomorrow we will be going into Dallas with them to the Meadows Museum.
